EVERYDAY AFTER THE LAST
Urns for the deceased, and those left behind, designed to be used in new grieving rituals.
Everyday After the Last is a project that intends to provide urns that can be used in a new set of rituals for the grieving. Inspired by the ancient funerary practices of Rome, Greece and Egypt, the ‘Finis Temporis Urn’ is a commemorative piece that can be used to hold ashes or flowers. The shape of the urn is that of an inverted hourglass, to represent the end of one’s time.
The cork on the bottom of the piece can be pulled to release ashes when they need to be scattered, or to change the water for the flowers. By releasing the flower water through this exit, it can be commemorative of when a loved one spread the ashes.
